GameChanger Team Manager App Overview - Families

Recognizing the importance youth soccer provides our families and community – especially during these uncertain times – Loudoun Soccer is committed to creating a safe environment for all of our members.

Although soccer during this pandemic has proven to be a lower risk sport, safeguards are still in place to ensure all participants remain healthy.

We are excited to announce our usage this season of the Dick's GameChanger Team Manager app, a free software designed primarily to display schedules, track and attendance, and communicate updates, which also features a Health Tracker questionnaire to be used for families to screen their child before attending a scheduled event.

For our Rec teams this season, we will no longer be utilizing the Pre-Play Questionnaire Google Survey and Database system from the Fall season.

Please see below regarding important information on utilizing this App, and some common scenarios you may encounter.

Creating Your Account and Importing Your Team

Look for an “invitation” emailed to your address associated with your Sports Connect account.

If you cannot locate it, the coach can re-send it, or you can download the app first. Visit the app store or Google Play (iOS and Android) to download.

When creating your account, be sure to use the email address associated with your Sports Connect account. This allows you to import team’s associated with your household.

You can also search for your team once you've downloaded the app, and request to join.

Whether you download from the email invite, or by visiting the app store, you can import your team and access the app's features.

Update Your Profile and Invite Family Members to Join

Once you’ve imported your team, you can update your profile by reading this article and following its steps.

Note that the contact information you provide or change in the app will also need to be changed in Sports Connect if you wish to update your profile with Loudoun Soccer and future registrations.

You may also add contacts (additional parents, grandparents, etc.) who need to stay in the loop by reading this article and following its steps.

VIEW YOUR SCHEDULE AND RSVP FOR TEAM EVENTS

Schedules (practices and games) should automatically import when you create your account, and update when/if changes occur or events are added by Loudoun Soccer.

Click on the Schedule or Events tab to see your team’s calendar.

REMEMBER: your official team schedule is listed on your Team Page in Sports Connect.. Be sure to review your Team Page schedule with your app schedule for accuracy, and notify your team’s coach ASAP if there are any discrepancies.

Touch a specific event to access the RSVP feature.

Use this feature to update your child’s status for each practice and game, which is helpful information for coaches for planning purposes.

As a rule of thumb: it’s best to also communicate directly (phone, text, or email) with the coach regarding an upcoming absence, so they are aware and can plan accordingly. RSVPing “not going” just before an event can create challenges for both your coach and your child’s team.

PRE-EVENT HEALTH TRACKER SURVEY

All families must update their child’s Health Tracker status the day of each event, preferably 1-2 hours before that event.

The survey MUST be completed the same day of that practice or game; failure to follow this rule may result in your child’s suspension from participation.

The survey consists of six questions. Due to the nationwide use of this app and the varying requirements of states and organizations within each state, these questions are hard-coded and may not be fully applicable to the club's protocols, which were established in conjunction with the county's health department.

In the event your child’s survey fails due to user error (fat fingers, too quick to submit, etc.): notify your team’s coach, so they may override the result and permit your child to participate.

In the event your child’s survey fails due to the answers you’ve submitted: notify [email protected] with as many details as possible, including but not limited to

* If the child is showing symptoms of or has tested positive for COVID-19

* If a household member is showing symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19.

* If the child was in close contact of someone showing symptoms of or diagnosed with COVID-19

* Relevant dates and details related to these scenarios.

The club’s Safe Return to Play Committee will review these details and may request additional information to determine if the child must pause their participation.

Messages: Automatic Reminders and Chat Feature

Reminder Messages:

Automatic reminder messages will be sent 1, 2, or 3 days prior to each event, depending on the settings set by the coach.

Team Chat Message:
Use the Message feature to send team-wide texts, alerts and reminders as needed.
