Loudoun Soccer's Safe Return to Play protocols may be adjusted based on local, state, and national guidelines and directives, given the evolving nature of this pandemic.

Below are key updates on conditions and requirements, as of May 14, 2021. These highlight key policy changes, and do not substitute for learning and following the full protocols, which all Loudoun Soccer families and visitors should familiarize themselves with.

Effective  Saturday, May 15, 2021, masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals who participate in or attend Loudoun Soccer events.

Individuals who are not yet fully vaccinated are still expected to follow the existing mask policy, which in short includes the following:

For players and referees: wear to and from the field and while not actively participating in the match.
For coaches, parents, and spectators: wear for the duration of the event (to/from the field, and before, during, and after the event).

All non participants (coaches, parents, spectators) regardless of vaccination status are still expected to maintain physical distancing of 10 feet from individuals outside of their household, as well as players and referees when not actively participating in the match. Families are still encouraged to limit spectator attendance to household members only.

This change in mask policy is based on an amendment to the Governor’s Executive Order 72 that was made late afternoon on Friday May 14, and a subsequent change announced by Loudoun County Parks and Rec late that evening.

Loudoun Soccer’s Safe Return to Play policies are the product of many inputs. While CDC guidelines are often used and cited, the primary influence on these policies are statewide orders and local policies we are required to follow. Since the Executive Order was amended and Parks and Rec (the primary provider of the fields we utilize) adjusted its policy, we now have the ability to modify ours.

Further changes to these policies – including distancing and capacity restrictions -- may occur later this season, and will be communicated accordingly.
