Loudoun Soccer offers Supplemental Programming for players to further improve skill level and enjoyment in the game. All programs are led by professional trainers and are typically organized by grade level, although some may be based on your child's birth year; locations for each program vary.

Junior Development Program



About JDP

Loudoun Soccer is pleased to offer its Junior Development Program (JDP) for Fall 2021. JDP is designed to teach and improve a child's creativity and comfort level with the ball.  Training sessions are organized by gender, and all sessions are led by professional youth soccer coaches.


Ages:

  • Kindergarten
  • 1st Grade
  • 2nd Grade

Players in Rec 1 Grade 1 born in the year 2015 are encouraged to participate in the U7 Pre-Academy.


Fees:

$95.00

The Junior Development Program is a supplement to a child's once-per-week team training session. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register their child as soon as possible.

Players are expected to arrive 10 minutes before each session. Volunteer Recreational coaches are encouraged to attend to observe the skills and activities to use with their own teams.

HOW TO REGISTER

How to Register - Grades K-2

Registering is easy!  Individuals wishing to enroll should complete the following steps:

Step 1: register your child in the Recreation (House) Program  – only those players registered in Recreation are eligible to participate. Kindergartners will enroll in the Minis - Kindergarten program, while 1st Graders and 2nd Graders will enroll in Rec 1.

Step 2: during the registration process, select the JDP option and complete the registration. Payment will be collected at that time.

U7 Pre-Academy



About U7 Pre-Academy

The U7 Pre-Academy is designed to provide the highest quality development program for the area's most motivated and committed U7 soccer players. A developmentally-appropriate curriculum with an emphasis on ball mastery, allowing each player to become more comfortable, confident and creative with their foot skills.

The program offers several unique benefits:

  • A developmentally-appropriate curriculum created and taught by licensed, professional coaches;
  • Once-per-week outdoor training in the Fall and Spring seasons, to supplement your child’s team training;
  • Reasonable cost to participate.
  • Exclusive to players that are Loudoun Soccer U7 age group. Players must be born in the designated birth year AND register in the Kindergarten or 1st Grade programs and be placed on a team.

Your child must be registered for our regular Kindergarten Minis or 1st Grade Recreation program and be placed on a team in order to participate in the U7 Pre-Academy.

Curriculum and Format:

The curriculum — designed by Dan Raben, Director of Player Development – features a heavy emphasis on individual ball mastery, allowing each player to become more comfortable, confident and creative with their foot skills, while nurturing their passion and enjoyment for soccer. Activities and games will follow the best practices of US Soccer and US Youth Soccer.

Each week of training will feature a theme, which will build off the themes from previous weeks, including:

  • Dribbling for possession (changes of direction, shielding)
  • Dribbling for penetration (attacking moves such as scissors, Matthews, step-overs, etc.)
  • First touch
  • Passing
  • Finishing and ball-striking

Players are organized into small training groups, and are led by a professional coach each session.

Rec Technical Training Academy


About Rec Technical Training

Designed to teach and refine each player's technical ability, while also teaching the tactical application within the game. Rec Technical Academy (RTTA) is a supplemental program for registered rec seasonal players. Training sessions are organized by grade, and all sessions are led by professional youth soccer coaches. Space is LIMITED, so families are encouraged to register early.

Rec Speed & Agility Training

Rec Speed & Agility programming is geared towards athletes interested in improving their on-field performance through increased athleticism. Programming will focus on proper form and technique; quick footwork; power and acceleration; and, the application of these techniques to the sport of soccer.

Rec Goalkeeper Academy



About  Rec GK Academy

A FREE program on Friday nights for Rec players in Grades 3-12. The Rec Goalkeeper Academy is geared toward players of all ability and experience levels - whether they love the position or just want to be better prepared if they play it on Saturday. All sessions are led by professional coaches from our Travel program. Instruction will focus on proper shot-stopping techniques, footwork and athletic stances, diving, distribution, and the goalkeeper as a leader on the field.

The Rec Goalkeeper Academy is led by Dave Bucciero, Loudoun Soccer Director of Goalkeeping. Dave brings a wealth of experience to this role. He previously served as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at American University, and is currently Region 1 Girls Director of New Staff Evaluation and Coaching Education, and is a Regional Olympic Development Program (ODP) coach. Dave played collegiately at James Madison University, and holds a USSF A License and NSCAA Advanced Diploma. Dave’s staff includes former and current college players and coaches.

Rec All-Stars Program



About Rec All-Stars

Loudoun Soccer players in its Recreation and Challenge programs are invited to tryout for All-Star teams. Players will participate in a series of activities and tests for coaches to evaluate and best select players.  The goal is to form at least one team per age group and gender.  Multiple teams may be formed in each age group based on interest, ability and coach availability. An All-Star tournament will take place on November 20th and 21st in Northern Virginia.


Age:
Boys and Girls in the following age groups are eligible to try out for Rec All-Star teams:

U9 (January 1-December 31, 2013)
U10 (January 1-December 31, 2012)
U11 (January 1-December 31, 2011)
U12 (January 1-December 31, 2010)
U13/U14 (January 1, 2008-December 31, 2009)

Note that All-Star teams are formed by US Soccer birth year age groups, and NOT by grade. Players MUST try out for their age group; no play up or play down requests are permitted. ONLY PLAYERS BORN BETWEEN 2009-2013 ARE ELIGIBLE.

Fee applies if selected to the program. There is no cost to tryout.

All Stars Program - Selected Players:

All families will receive notification of selection or rejection by email on or around October 8th. Selected players will be required to completed the All-Stars acceptance registration and pay the program fee.

Uniforms:
The Loudoun Soccer All-Star uniform package includes two official long-sleeved logoed All Star jerseys from Capelli Sport. Players should wear their black shorts and black socks from their Recreation uniform. Sizes are collected during online tryout registration, and jerseys will be ordered following selections. Uniform numbers are assigned by Loudoun Soccer (no requests).

The uniform cost is included in the registration fee.  ALL players will receive new jerseys each season; previous All-Star jerseys may not be reused. Uniforms will be distributed before the event. Optional items such as a sweatshirt and/or a backpack may be available for purchase in our online store, and/or at the first training on 10/17. More information will be available at later date.



Registration, Fees & Uniforms:

There is no cost to try out.  The fee to participate if selected is $160, which includes the following:

  1. tournament team registration to the All-Star tournament;
  2. Approximate 15 hours of soccer (tryouts, training and games) under the direction of a licensed and experienced coach.
  3. two long-sleeved logo'd and numbered All-Star jerseys.

Payment will be collected by credit card if selected.

Medical waivers will be collected on October 17 which a parent/guardian of each player must sign to participate in the tournament.

Additionally: you may be contacted by the Loudoun Soccer office regarding submitting a Proof of Age (POA), if one is not on file. A photocopy of a birth certificate or passport is acceptable.

MANDATORY CHECK-IN ON OCTOBER 17:

On Sunday October 17th, in conjunction with your team’s first training session, representatives from Loudoun Soccer will be present to assist families with the following tasks:  

Confirm jersey sizes: All players will receive two long-sleeve numbered jerseys prior to the tournament. Families are responsible for providing their own black shorts and black socks for games.   Jersey sizes are collected when you complete the acceptance registration, but families can review and players may try on samples to ensure the right size is ordered. Numbers will be assigned by Loudoun Soccer (no requests).  

Medical Release Waiver: a parent or guardian must sign a medical waiver at this time to allow their child to participate in the tournament.   The waiver does NOT need to be notarized. This form can also be uploaded when you complete your acceptance registration.

Proof of Age collection: any family who has not submitted a Proof of Age document (copy of birth certificate or passport) may do so at this time. Families will be contacted via email by the club office if this is needed.  You can also upload this into your child's profile within your account.

Families can also order backpacks, if they did not do so during the acceptance process.

Volunteer Coach Assistance & Support

Coaches within our Recreation and Challenge programs can assist in All Stars through the following methods:

1. Nominate a player:

Coaches may submit up to three (3) names of players from their current team.  This nomination form is used to help evaluate players, and does not substitute for a player’s participation in tryouts nor does it guarantee their selection.

2. Help evaluate at tryouts and/or serve as an assistant coach:

Coaches may assist in the tryout process by evaluating those in attendance, and may serve as an assistant coach to a team their child is selected to for this season.  Coaches will be assigned to one or both roles at the sole discretion of Loudoun Soccer – completion of the short form below does not guarantee assignment.
