Indoor Winter 2022 Key Policies

The policies all participants (players, parents, coaches, referees, staff, spectators, etc.) must follow are the product of many inputs, primarily requirements set forth by the Governor of Virginia, but also those from the county government and Loudoun County Parks, Recreation & Community Services.

As of December 2021, requirements from state and local government are minimal for indoor sports, and as such, so are Loudoun Soccer’s.

However, due to the various indoor facilities Loudoun Soccer utilizes - a combination of county-managed locations as well as privately owned facilities - a safe, simple, and uniform set of policies is needed.

The following represent the key responsibilities for all participants as we enter the Winter 2022 indoor season. These policies may change as conditions associated with the pandemic also change; families are responsible for staying informed and following them in order for their families to participate.

Pre-Event Self-Wellness Check:

All members, prior to attending any event, must complete a two-step pre-event self-wellness check:

1.     Temperature Check – individuals with a temperature of 100.4 or higher are prohibited from participating.

2.     Answer the following questions on the day of the event, preferably 1-2 hours prior:

a.     Is your participant’s current temperature 100.4 or higher?
b.     Has the participant been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 10 days?
c.     Is the participant exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days?
d.     Has the participant been exposed to anyone that has been diagnosed with or has symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days?

Any individual answering YES to one or more of the questions is prohibited from participating, should stay home, and should immediately notify [email protected] with relevant details.

Reporting:

Any individual sick with symptoms of, or diagnosed with, or exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 should contact [email protected] with relevant details, such as key dates (e.g. when symptoms began), to determine whether a pause in participation for that individual is required.

Masks:

Masks must be worn in and out of the facility by all participants. However, masks are not required while participating, but may be worn at the discretion of each participant.

Spectators:

Spectators are NOT permitted inside the playing area of indoor locations. Some locations may have a lobby area for spectators to wait (e.g. Gateway Community Church), while other facilities due to space limitations may require parents to wait in their vehicles.

Below are highlights to remember for each event (practice, game, etc.).

Pre Event

* Complete Pre-Event Self-Wellness Check
* Allow previous game/practice to conclude and participants to exit field before entering.
* Carpooling with non-household members is discouraged.
* Participants should wear masks while entering the facility.

During the Event

* Use of hand sanitizer before entering the field is encouraged.
* Spectators should wait in vehicles or in designated area of facility.

Post Event

Depart from facility as quickly as possible so next group can organize quickly for their event.
* Spectators should wear masks as they exit the facility.
* Use of hand sanitizer is encouraged.
* Notify [email protected] in the event a participant is diagnosed with COVID-19 with 14 days of the event date.
