Loudoun Soccer is pleased to expand our Futsal Academy to Travel players in January and February 2021 at The PAC Facility in Ashburn, Virginia.
About Futsal:
Futsal is an indoor version of soccer that develops a player's skill on the ball in tight spaces, speed of play, and is tons of fun. Futsal comes from the Spanish term "futbol sala" or "futbol de salon." The term is commonly translated as "indoor football." Futsal is played on a hard surface which creates a very fast-moving game. This is a great way for players to develop their technical skills and tactical awareness in tight spaces.
- “When I was a young boy in Argentina, I played futsal in the streets and in a club. It was great fun and made me the player I am today.” – Lionel Messi
- “Futsal is an excellent way for children to develop their skills and understanding of the game. My technique and my dribbling skills came from playing futsal.” – Ronaldinho
- “In Portugal, all we played growing up was Futsal. The smaller court helped my footwork skills, the nature of the game made me feel so free when I played. If it wasn’t for Futsal, I would definitely not be the player I am today.” – Cristiano Ronaldo
Benefits of Futsal:
- Grows game intelligence – develops quicker reflexes, faster thinking, and more accurate passing
- Improves 1v1 technical skills & creativity – emphasizes ball control and technical skill in tighter spaces
- Enhances overall balance, agility, coordination, ball mastery, passing, receiving, etc. – which all translate to outdoor soccer
- Maximizes player enjoyment in small-sided, competitive, & fun environment with experienced trainers
