Event Dates:

Format:
Teams will be organized into divisions by age group (typically of four, five, six or eight teams), and will be scheduled three games. Most divisions will also include a championship match (divisions of five will not). All divisions will declare Champion (first place) and Finalist (second place) awards, and will provide awards to members of those teams.

Eligibility:
Teams currently participating in the Fall 2019 Rec program in Rec 2, Challenge 1, and Challenge 2 programs are eligible to participate. Only players on a team’s official roster are eligible to participate – guest players may be added on a limited basis and must be approved by Loudoun Soccer (see rules above).

Team Volunteer Requirement:
Hosting this tournament requires a considerable amount of work and oversight – before, during, and after the event. To better ensure the event runs smoothly, all participating teams are expected to contribute by providing at least one volunteer (adult, or high school aged sibling) to assist during the event.

Volunteer tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Field Set-Up: arrive early to location to ensure fields are assembled (goals in place, corner flags and benches set, etc.)
  • Field Marshal: sit at a field or set of fields to collect game cards, report issues to Site HQ, etc.
  • Site HQ: collect game cards, answer questions, distribute trophies, etc.
  • Field Clean-Up: ensure garbage is thrown away and lost-and-found items are collected, etc.

Volunteer shifts should last 2-3 hours, and are typically assigned around the team’s game to minimize the time spent on site.

Volunteer sign-up details will be shared via email at a later date.

Cancellation Policy:
If the event is canceled in full or partially, regardless of circumstance, Loudoun Soccer is not responsible or liable to issue any refunds; any full or partial refunds issued are at the discretion of Loudoun Soccer, and will be returned to the team’s coach, who would be responsible for dispersing the refund back to the participating families in a timely fashion.

Challenge 2 & Classic Post-Season Playoffs

Teams in the Challenge 2 (Grades 5-6) and Classic (Grades 7-8) programs participate in an end-of-season playoff, which is an extension of their season and included in the registration fee.
