Players are STRONGLY encouraged to attend both sessions but attendance at both is not mandatory. The coaches of each All Star age group/team are licensed and experienced coaches, many of whom are involved in Loudoun Soccer’s Travel program.

Tryout Format

Players MUST arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled tryout date to check-in, and should wear/bring the following:

  • weather-appropriate clothing
  • shin guards
  • soccer shoes
  • water
  • properly sized and inflated soccer ball (size 4 for U9-U12)

Families will also need to complete an at-home temperature check and Pre-Play Questionnaire prior to attending the session. Details will be communicated via email.

Players will participate in a series of activities and tests for coaches to evaluate and best select players.

All families will receive notification of selection or rejection by email on or around May 7.

The goal is to form at least one team per age group and gender.  Multiple teams may be formed in each age group based on interest, ability and coach availability.

Practice & Event Schedule

Players selected to an All-Star team will train on Sunday mornings, afternoons or evenings (May 16, May 23, June 6, and June 13) to avoid conflicts with their regular team’s practices and games, and may train once during a weeknight the week of June 14.

Practices are typically held in Leesburg (Bolen Park or Loudoun Soccer Park); schedules are available within your Team Page.

All teams will attend an All-Star tournament in Northern Virginia (event TBD). Game schedules will be communicated when available on a later date. For planning purposes, families should keep their schedules open on both days.

Parents: CLICK HERE to read a letter detailing parent expectations at prior to and during the event (coming soon).

All players who wish to tryout MUST register online via their User Account.  Please register AT LEAST 24 hours before your tryout date.

Registration, Fees & Uniforms

There is no cost to try out.  The fee to participate if selected is $160, which includes the following:

  1. tournament team registration to the All-Star tournament;
  2. Approximate 15 hours of soccer (tryouts, training and games) under the direction of a licensed and experienced coach.
  3. two short-sleeved logo'd and numbered All-Star jerseys.

Payment will be collected by credit card if selected.

Medical waivers will be collected on May 16 which a parent/guardian of each player must sign to participate in the tournament.

Additionally: you may be contacted by the Loudoun Soccer office regarding submitting a Proof of Age (POA), if one is not on file. A photocopy of a birth certificate or passport is acceptable.

The Loudoun Soccer All-Star uniform package includes two official short-sleeved logoed All Star jerseys from Capelli Sport. Players should wear their black shorts and black socks from their Recreation uniform. Sizes are collected during online tryout registration, and jerseys will be ordered following selections. Uniform numbers are assigned by Loudoun Soccer (no requests).

The uniform cost is included in the registration fee.  ALL players will receive new jerseys each season; previous All-Star jerseys may not be reused. Uniforms will be distributed before the event. Optional items such as a sweatshirt and/or a backpack may be available for purchase in our online store, and/or at the first training on 5/16. More information will be available at later date.

On Sunday May 16, in conjunction with your team’s first training session, representatives from Loudoun Soccer will be present to assist families with the following tasks:

Confirm jersey sizes: All players will receive two long-sleeve numbered jerseys prior to the tournament. Families are responsible for providing their own black shorts and black socks for games.   Jersey sizes are collected when you complete the acceptance registration, but families can review and players may try on samples to ensure the right size is ordered. Numbers will be assigned by Loudoun Soccer (no requests).

Medical Release Waiver: a parent or guardian must sign a medical waiver at this time to allow their child to participate in the tournament.   The waiver does NOT need to be notarized. This form can also be uploaded when you complete your acceptance registration.

Proof of Age collection: any family who has not submitted a Proof of Age document (copy of birth certificate or passport) may do so at this time. Families will be contacted via email by the club office if this is needed.  You can also upload this into your child's profile within your account.

Families can also order backpacks, if they did not do so during the acceptance process.

Volunteer Coach Assistance & Support

Coaches within our Recreation and Challenge programs can assist in All Stars through the following methods:

1. Nominate a player:

Coaches may submit up to three (3) names of players from their current team.  This nomination form is used to help evaluate players, and does not substitute for a player’s participation in tryouts nor does it guarantee their selection.

Deadline: April 23, 2021.

2. Help evaluate at tryouts and/or serve as an assistant coach:

Coaches may assist in the tryout process by evaluating those in attendance, and may serve as an assistant coach to a team their child is selected to for this season.  Coaches will be assigned to one or both roles at the sole discretion of Loudoun Soccer – completion of the short form below does not guarantee assignment.

Deadline: April 23, 2021.

3. Promote this tryout to your team. Tryouts are open to all registered players.
