Loudoun Soccer is proud to host its second annual U8 Academy Fall Friendlies on November 17-18, 2012. The U8 Academy Fall Friendlies is sanctioned through Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA). The event is open to all eligible teams.

Two divisions may be offered: an Academy division (for a club's Academy program) and a Recreational division (for individual recreational teams, both within and outside of Loudoun Soccer).

The format and central location will allow players and parents the opportunity to support the other teams from their club participating in this event, creating a festival atmosphere that promotes player, team and club unity.

Emphasis:

The festival is designed to facilitate clubs player development programs, specifically their U8 Academy or equivalent program.
|
|
Number of Games:
|
|
Each team will play four games, most likely two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
|

Fee:
|
|
Academy teams: $325 per team; payment by check or credit card.
Recreational teams: $300 per team; payment by check or credit card.

Technical Information
Technical Staff: Format and central location allows the clubs technical staff to easily observe all their players and coaches in action.
Competition Level: Each club will be asked to provide competitive information regarding their teams in order to ensure the level of competition between teams is appropriate and in the best interests of individual player development.
Who Can Play: Open to players born on or after 8/1/04 in the U8 age group. U7 players and teams may also participate but first priority will be extended to U8 teams. No travel teams or travel carded players permitted. All players must have current US Youth Soccer recreational player passes
Entry of Teams: Each club can enter a maximum of 6 teams per gender
Roster Size 5 v 5 (No GKs), 10 player maximum
Game Format: 40 minute games (four 10-minute quarters)
2 minute break in between quarters
5 minute half time
2 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday (probable)
Ball Size: Size 3
Field Size: 40 yard x 30 yard (approximate)
Goal Size: 4’ x 6’
Unique U8 Rules: No offside
No standings will be kept
Kick-ins used instead of throw-ins
All fouls result in a direct free kick with the opponent 4yds away
