PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The U7 Pre-Academy is designed to provide the highest quality development program for the area’s most motivated and committed U7 soccer players.  The program offers several unique benefits:

 

• A developmentally-appropriate curriculum created and taught by licensed, professional coaches;
• Once-per-week outdoor training in the fall and spring seasons, to supplement your child’s team training;
• Low cost to participate.
• Exclusive to players that are Loudoun Soccer U7 pure age group (players must be born between 8/1/06 and 7/31/07).

 

CURRICULUM:

The curriculum -- designed by Dan Raben, Director of Player Development – features a heavy emphasis on individual ball mastery, allowing each player to become more comfortable, confident and creative with their foot skills, while nurturing their passion and enjoyment for soccer.  Activities and games will follow the best practices of US Soccer and US Youth Soccer.

 

Each week of training will feature a theme, which will build off the themes from previous weeks, including:

 

• Dribbling for possession (changes of direction, shielding)
• Dribbling for penetration (attacking moves such as scissors, Matthews, step-overs, etc.)
• First touch
• Passing
• Finishing and ball-striking

 

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

The U7 Pre-Academy will train once per week during the Fall and Spring seasons; these Friday evening sessions are a supplement to your child’s regularly-scheduled team practices during the week and games on Saturday.

 

Fridays:

4:30-5:30 PM – U7 Girls

5:30-6:30 PM – U7 Boys

 

Fall 2013 Dates:

September 6, 13, 20, 27
October 4, 18, 25 (no training on 10/11)
 

Rainout date: November 2

Number of Total Sessions: 7

COST:

The cost for players selected into the U7 Pre-Academy program for the Fall 2013 season is $95.  (Your player must be registered for our regular U7 recreation program in order to participate in the U7 Pre-Academy).

Registration deadline: August 19, 2013
There is no cost to tryout; families of players selected to the program are responsible for paying the fee after selection.

REGISTRATION AND TRYOUTS FOR PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS:

Players who wish to participate in the Fall 2013 U7 Pre-Academy can do so by completing the following steps:

 

Step 1: register your child in the U7 Recreation (House) Program by clicking HERE – only those players registered in U7 Recreation are eligible to tryout, and all players must be age appropriate (born between 8/1/06 and 7/31/07).

Step 2: during the registration process, select the U7 Pre-Academy and choose an evaluation date to attend (see below)

Step 3: have your child attend and participate in the U7 Pre-Academy evaluation date:

 

Friday August 16 in Leesburg (specific field to be announced)
girls: 5:30-6:30pm
boys: 6:45-7:45pm

Friday August 23 in South Riding (specific field to be announced)
girls: 5:30-6:30pm
boys: 6:45-7:45pm

Step 4: families will be contacted via email as to whether their child is selected.

 

 

Your player must be registered for our regular U7 recreation program in order to participate in the U7 Pre-Academy.
