Loudoun Soccer players in both Challenge and Recreation are invited to tryout for All Star teams, which will compete in the Fairfax Police Youth Club (FPYC) Father’s Day All Star Tournament June 15-16.
Listed below are details regarding the tryout and the All Stars program.
TRYOUT SCHEDULE:
Tryouts are scheduled for Sunday April 28 and Sunday May 5 at Bolen Park in Leesburg:
4-5:30 PM:
U9 girls – field 14A
U10 girls – field 14B
U11 girls – field 13
U12 girls – field 15
U13 girls – field 16
5:30-7 PM:
U9 boys – field 14A
U10 boys – field 14B
U11 boys – field 13
U12 boys – field 15
U13 boys – field 16
Players MUST attend at least one of the tryout dates, and are strongly encouraged to attend both.
TRYOUT FORMAT:
Players should arrive 15-30 minutes before their scheduled tryout date and should wear/bring the following:
- completed tryout registration form – click HERE – be sure to complete it BEFORE arriving at tryouts.
- weather-appropriate clothing
- shin-guards
- soccer shoes
- water
- properly sized and inflated soccer ball
Players will participate in a series of activities and tests for coaches to evaluate and best select players. Coaches and evaluators are current Loudoun Soccer Challenge and Rec coaches.
All families will receive notification of selection or rejection by email from their All Star age group coach by May 12.
Multiple teams may be formed in each age group based on interest, ability and coach availability.
PRACTICE AND EVENT SCHEDULE:
Players selected to an All Star team will train on Sunday afternoons or evenings (May 12, May 19, June 2, June 9) and additional sessions may be scheduled during the week of June 10.
All teams will attend the FPYC Father’s Day All Star Tournament June 15-16.
Team coaches may elect to attend the WYSC Cup in Warrenton June 22-23 if interest from their team warrants it; an additional expense (approximately $30-35 per player) will be collected by the team’s coach if the team attends this event.
FEES AND UNIFORMS:
A per-player fee of $40 (payable by check to “Loudoun Soccer”) is due at your team’s first practice, and will be collected by your team’s coach.
Players with All Star uniforms from previous seasons are welcome to re-use them. Players who need a uniform (returning players in need of a replacement or new players in need of a full set) will coordinate payment and sizing with their All Star team’s coach. The uniform kit consists of two jerseys, one short, one sock and one sack pack.
The uniform cost is $40, and is payable to “Loudoun Soccer.” Families may pay their All Star fee and uniform fee in one check if desired.
Teams attending the WYSC Cup in Warrenton will owe additional money, which will be organized and collected by the team’s coach.
