All-Star Program

Spring 2014 All Star Program Information

Loudoun Soccer players in its U9-U12 Recreation and U9-U12 Challenge programs are invited to tryout for All Star teams, which will compete in the FPYC Father’s Day All-Star Tournament June 14-15, 2014 in Fairfax County, VA.

Listed below are details regarding the tryout and the All Stars program.

AGE GROUPS:
U9-U12 Girls
U9-U12 Boys

Two teams are expected to be formed in each age group and gender.

Players may not tryout for an older age group UNLESS they are currently playing in that older age group for the Spring 2014 season.

Only players registered and placed on a team in Loudoun Soccer's Recreation program (including In-House, Challenge and Classic) for the Spring 2014 season are eligible to participate.

U13-U14 Classic and U16-U19 SFL teams reserve the right to attend this event as a team; coaches of those teams should communicate their intentions to Karen Corpe via email by Monday May 5, 2014, and should refer to the email sent to them with further details.

Players are STRONGLY encouraged to attend both sessions but attendance at both is not mandatory.

The coaches of each All Star age group/team are licensed and experienced coaches, many of who are involved in Loudoun Soccer's Travel program.

Coaches in our Rec and Challenge programs interested in assisting with tryouts and/or All Star teams should see below.

TRYOUT FORMAT:

Players MUST arrive 15-30 minutes before their scheduled tryout date to check-in, and should wear/bring the following:

  • weather-appropriate clothing
  • shin-guards
  • soccer shoes
  • water
  • properly sized and inflated soccer ball

Players will participate in a series of activities and tests for coaches to evaluate and best select players.  All families will receive notification of selection or rejection by email on or around May 9.

The goal is to form one or two teams per age group and gender.  Multiple teams may be formed in each age group based on interest, ability and coach availability.

PRACTICE AND EVENT SCHEDULE:

Players selected to an All Star team will train on Sunday afternoons or evenings (May 18, June 1, and June 8) to avoid conflicts with their regular team's practices and games, and additional sessions will be scheduled during the week of June 9 (five total practices).

All teams will attend the FPYC Father’s Day All-Star Tournament June 14-15.

REGISTRATION, FEES AND UNIFORMS:

All players who wish to tryout MUST register online via their Family Accounts - click HERE to access your Family Account.  Please register AT LEAST 24 hours before your tryout date.  Registration deadline is Saturday May 3.

There is no cost to tryout.  The fee to participate if selected is $100, which includes the following:

1. tournament team registration to FPYC Father’s Day All-Star Tournament;
2. Approximate 10 hours of soccer (training and games) under the direction of a licensed and experienced coach.

Payment will be collected by credit card or e-check via your Family Account if selected.

A uniform package of $40 may be required; returning players from Fall 2013 All Stars may re-use their uniform from that season.  New players will need to purchase this package if selected.  The Loudoun Soccer All Star uniform package includes two official ProTime "Anaheim" All Star jerseys (red and white) and one ProTime "Arena" bag (players are to provide their own black shorts and black socks).

Selected players will need to place their uniform order at the Loudoun Soccer office during normal business hours during a designated time period.  More information will be sent following selections.

Rec and Challenge Coaches:

Coaches within our Rec and Challenge programs are welcome to assist with the All Star program in one of two manners:

·         Evaluations: serve as an evaluator for tryouts;

·         Assistant Coach: be assigned as an assistant coach to a team, pending their child’s selection.

Coaches interested in one or both roles should complete the short registration form here.  Please do so by Friday April 25, 2014.  Assignments for evaluator and assistant coach roles are at the sole discretion of Loudoun Soccer.
