The Loudoun Soccer U7-U12 Recreation program provides the opportunity for boys and girls to develop basic soccer skills and teamwork in a stress-free and fun environment. Teams are typically organized by gender and age group (U7 boys, U7 girls, U8 boys, U8 girls, etc) and by town of play (Leesburg, Ashburn, South Riding, Purcellville, etc).
Teams practice twice per week, and U7 and U8 teams receive three practices conducted by Professional coaches.
All ages play their games on Saturday.
U7 and U8 teams participate in our end-of-season Jamboree.
U9-U12 teams have the opportunity to participate in an end-of-season in-house tournament for an additional expense.
U7-U8: 4v4 (no goalkeepers)
U13-U14 (Classic League): 11v11
Loudoun Soccer is a long-time advocate of small-sided games, which promote player development in the younger age groups; these formats help pave for a smooth transition and a developmentally appropriate progression for skill development and tactical concepts.
Recently US Youth Soccer issued a new set of recommendations for small-sided games, and the Loudoun Soccer recreational program is currently compatible with most of these recommendations, as some modifications were identified and implemented that best suit the needs of Loudoun Soccer and its players.
